blowing shop questions? what is this stuff?
I bought a gentlemans glass shop last year, he was a glass blower, and I am just getting through all of the stuff I got. He has moved w no fwding addy. Sooo I have some things that I am not familiar with. Maybe you guys can help.
1. I have several packs of some black tarry looking stuff in a clear wrap. It is flexible. 1" by around 6"
2.a very heavy duty belt, w a steel square attachment. It has a curved cutout on the front and 2 screw down clamps .. to clamp down?
3. 2 very heavy magifying lenses, approimatly 5" across, dome is about 1" up.
4. 4-4 1/2"' accross pleuro stopper's in boxes, rubber looking green,
I can post photo's if the descriptions are not clear enough. I also got bookoo clear boro rods, Are they sellable if I cut them to a shipping length?
Thaks for your imput.. Jill

Did you get stuff from a furnace worker or a lamp worker? There's some crossover in equipment but some stuff's more specialized.
I don't know about the first one, but in the second picture, the 2 wheeled thing are rollers the thing to the left of the rollers might be the attachment point for them, the next one to the right looks like pachoffi sticks, like jacks. The next one to the right almost looks like a ribbon burner.
Third picture looks like mostly fuel line hookup parts
last picture looks like a ground joint.

He taught glass blowing at a college. There was alot of stuff. I knew most of it. but the ones in the photo's are guess work. I found the jacks (pachoffi sticks) in a glass catalogue. I have not found a base for the rollers yet. The rest who knows? That apparatus on the belt is a real puzzle. Thanks for your input! Jill
