I have the Paragon 2C2 with the Bead Door and I am very happy with it. I mainly use my kiln for Lampworking and PMC.

I have a caldera with bead door, I think it's the best thing I ever bought! Reliable, a workhorse, wouldn't buy any other brand of kiln.

to really answer your question, neither is really better than the other. they are both fantastic crossover kilns. they do beads, fusing, and art clay.

the only real difference is size. the SC2's chamber is 5.75 inches tall, and the SC3's chamber is 7.75 inches tall. the SC3 is also a 1/4 inch deeper. if you have any other questions, or would like to speak with someone in more length about this, give us a call at 1-866-342-4764

do you use a separate dedicated shelf for art clay so that the PMC does not react with any of the lampwork glass?
