Karen, I used to have the same problem of not knowing DH was coming in the room so he put up a mirror positioned so that I would see him while I was torching. He's such a thoughtful sweetie. Pretty useful too as long as I keep him well supplied with homemade cookies and biscotti.

A mirror is a good idea. My family is always going in and out as well as the 4 dogs so sometimes I just strap the door open. As for music, always on! I usually listen to the local station that has DElilah or the music on my IPhone. I'm not sure I could torch without it, dh says I can't drive without music. Lol

I used to play music loud enough to hear over the vent fan and oxycons...but it got to be too noisy for me. Now I use noise canceling earbuds and my ipod...all I hear is music...it's great!

I need music without a doubt. Helps give me in a "groove" while I am doing the repetitive stuff, as well as not hearing the equipment the whole time. Lately I have been on a 90's rap kick to be honest.lol

Music for sure. The ipod in the sound dock and loud enough to hear over the torch, fan and oxycon. I have a very eclectic selection of music on the ipod so you never know what you might hear when I have it on.

I play Pandora on "meditation" in the background. Zen all the way.

More music please! I have a very good friend who works at Bose Corporate Headquarters and He gave me a older model sound wave radio that is just for cd's and Ipod. I listen to anything from Native American to country to classical and everything in between!

Loud C&W -- old or new doesn't matter just as long as it is loud.
