Default Torch question

I just fired up my brand new major torch for the first time and have a bright white flame....are my PSI levels off? I know the ideal flame should be blue. Also the torch keeps getting clogged?

Clean your torch and clear out any carbon.
Check your fuel and oxygen tank regulator pressure settings; 15 psi oxygen and 5 psi propane is a good setting.
Turn on your fuel valve at the torch and light it to get a fuel-only flame, adjust this to about 6" to 9" in length.
Add on your oxygen to get the blue flame. Add enough so that the candles/jets are blue and only have yellow/white tips. The more oxygen you add, the more blue you get.
Adjust your flame with the valves on the torch to get the flame chemistry and flame size you need.

I have an oxygen tank with silan gas, everything was bought brand new. I bought the starter kit from sundance art glass, which supplied me with the hose, guages, and torch. I was running the gas at 4 PSI and my Oxy at 25 PSI. By clogged I mean not all of the holes in the torch are lighting up. The ones that are working have some sorta of material seeping out. I will upload some pics soon

Where are you located?
Is this the gas you are using?
"Silane is an inorganic compound with chemical formula SiH4. It is a colourless, flammable gas with a sharp, repulsive smell, somewhat similar to that of acetic acid.[1] Silane is of practical interest as a precursor to silicon metal."

Here is a video on how the flame should look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqCPyAi68mE

I meant what country/state.
Don't think you can use Acetylene gas on this torch. Get a propane tank.

Yes, go to the store and get a propane tank if you don't have one on your BBQ grill.

Does the gas regulator you got have a big black twist knob at the end it attaches to the tank?

Then you are all set, hook it to a propane tank and it will work.

Acetylene gas burns different than propane. Much dirtier.

That's why your torch is clogged up.
