Default Etch resist for beads?

So, I know how to etch metal with a resist to make a design. Is there something that you can use as a resist on beads to make a design? I did find a reference to nail polish but the rest of the stuff is for etching metal. Can I use nail polish? And can I then use nail polish remover on it without ruining the etch?

Yes, you can use nail polish and no, it won't hurt the bead to remove it.

I used acrylic paint.

If you are using a liquid etch, Elmers glue works just fine.

Elmer's glue. Who would have thought lol. I actually use elmers glue to glue chunks of rock to the two by four before running it through the slab saw. (big chunks too like brick size).
