Question nowhere near fluent in controller progrming

i just installed a new 30 step controller, converting an old ceramics kiln to do my anealling and slumping. anyway its a syl.2352p i purchaced from auberins(in case anybody is familiar). lots of good tech info & instruction. there inlies the problem;its too tech.seems vague & even contradicting at times. installation is complete & went smoothly. now i need to know if there is somebody, somewhere that can explain the programing steps in, lets say 10 year old child terminology.

First you do realize that this is not a plug and play type controller and that you need to build a box with a relay etc for this to work?

oh yes, im all installed and opperational. fine job too if i do say so myself.(pix later) im just saying im have great difficulty with the less than friendly manuals. they read as though you are already familiar with this type of programing. if you go to auberins website you can pull up the same manuals & see for yourself. it doesnt help that im ignorent when it comes to the tech lingo.

Print Page 5 it will tell you how to start

follow the flow chart on page 6 of manual 1
Change At to 0
Sn to 0 (type K thermocouple)

Reading thru it I think these are the parameters you need to change from what is writen.

As for the Ramp soak, what do you want to do?
Ramp up fast, garage, anneal, and then cool down?

for now one program for batch anneal, 2nd program to mold form tiles and pendants. maybe its just the shear number of options and steps that overwelm me. i'll likely get it figured out. i'm just fishing for the majic answer that may not exist. its just going to take some studying and trying.

Your going to need to write out your programs
This is to garage while you work...
how long to ramp to what temp (say to garage 925-945 for 45 mins)

how long to hold @ Temp (same as first temp for time you want to work 240 mins)

Ramp to anneal 960 hold for 60 mins

Ramp down 850 for 110 mins (60 degrees per hour)

Ramp to 70 for 624 mins (75 degrees per hour)

Go to manual 2, 3.1 and follow how to set steps
You are going to have to put the tempature you want to reach and then the time in minutes for the ramp/soak
There is some good news... you can save 3 programs in here so start your first program on step 2 for the above you would use step 2-8
second program 9- etc

Does this totally confuse you???

I also found this... http://ssprockets.com/glass/auberpro...ng%20notes.pdf

ideally i'd like to find someone who has this model who can explain that you must set this & do that, ignore this, skip that, make sure you do this and then this will be the result. The short of it (if there is a such thing).

Make a "cheat sheet" as you go..... In English... So if you have to change something you will have a legitimate map....

found some good shorthand instructions. this should get me where i need to be. thanx everybody. this will be helpful for others doing the same thing. i see alot of kiln conversions going on and controller questions. for anybody on a budget, i still think this controller is the way to go. its $80 instead of $400. the performance is there, its just not as user friendly when it comes to the programing. thats just a matter of learning something new. once its programed its programed. after that, program changes are easy.
