Default eye protection

Hi =) I have been using a pair of Didy when I lamp work... I don't get to torch very often. But I find my eye tired after 3 hours behind the torch. Is that normal?
Do your eyes get tired? I'm using a hothead and 104 glass =)

Thanks for any tips =)

Sometimes, but not usually because I take short breaks. It only happens when I don't take a break.

(Just like when you're staring a a computer screen all day, you need to take breaks.)

I have heard of lampworkers putting a note on the bench just past the torch flame with the word "BLINK" on it.

Seems we tend to stop blinking our eyes when we get thoroughly involved in something.

Oh and I am always pushing folks to drink more water so drink more water while you are working too.

There are no dumb questions.

Even the most experienced need to be reminded of the small stuff now and then.

And being dehydrated sneaks up on everyone at one point or another.
