$36 a dozen. I can knock one out in less than a minute. But I'm retired now.

Thanks for sharing ... think I might need to add this to my line up of various style icicles.
Just getting ready to start the Christmas ornament product part of my year ... lol.

Thanks for sharing. It's hard to see from the video, perhaps I missed something in the begining. Are you sort of folding the tip of the melting glass onto the body, pulling, and folding up? Or is there twisting involved as well.
Thanks, really interesting

It's overlapped each time on the rod in four different places around the rod. Folded as you say.
You can see the action well on the very first overlap. You just keep doing that on different spots around the rod as you go.
After the first 4 are done, overlap in between the last overlaps and stretch slightly each time to taper it down.

Do you mind sharing what size diameter rod you are using? Your work is beautiful.

Thank you so much. These are awesome. I tried making some with the Pyrex I have, but it is a little scrawny and I noticed yours were much thicker and prettier. I guess that means I need to order some 7mm Pyrex

I made some from your video last year with thin, and they aren't quite as nice, but still pretty and icicle-like to these Florida eyes

Yes somewhere. If I run across them I will post them. Can't you see it at the end of the video?

Technically for Boro, 10 mins. per millimeter thickness at 1050 degrees measured at the thickest point. You can probably just run the kiln up to 1050 and turn it off, let it come down on its own. At 500 degrees you can vent the kiln a bit and cool it down a bit faster.

Wow, I would have loved to see that. I have been to the Ren Cen many times. I'll bet the tree was gorgeous and sparkled with all of those icicles.

They may still use them on the tree? They would be about 30 years old by now. LOL
