Default April Zilber, Beginning Beadmaking Series, Feb 6-Mar 5

In this class, students will learn skills to make a wide variety of basic beads. Students will learn how to work with a torch, heat and manipulate glass, how to make basic bead shapes, some uses of bead-shaping tools, how to use heat and gravity in shaping beads, how to make dotted beads, lined beads, and if class time permits, basics of working with stringers, twisters and raking. No experience necessary. All ages from 14 and up are welcome. This is a 5-week series held on Monday nights.

April Zilber has been fusing, slumping and flameworking glass since 1992. April introduces students to a variety of techniques and encourages learning through working with the materials. “ Heat, gravity, light and imagination“ have been her guiding principles in working with glass. She taught beadmaking and fusing at StudioOneArtCenter for 11 years and The Crucible in Oakland for 6 years, and at Public Glass for 1 year.
