Is there any future plans for making some of the larger bead size rollers to accommodate a 1/16 mandrel? I bought the bantam and like it but would like some of the larger sized bead rollers. I don't like the look a 3/32 hole gives the beads that I use in my jewelry designs. I know a lot of other people who make jewelry feel the same way. Maybe it's something you could do a poll on to see if others would be interested.

I know I would buy a bunch more!

You can use the 1/16" mandrel on the larger slots, too. The slot is a guide that helps you roll the bead straight, so the hole runs 'straight' through the bead, and not at an angle, kind of like the earths axis is at a slight angle. With a smaller mandrel, it will just have a bit more 'wiggle room' in the slot.

I've had great success working a smaller mandrel in a larger hole. I just want more all big holed ones for bigger bead sizes

I may have missed it but are there any tips on getting good dimples or simple holes? I'm having a bit of trouble with sharp edges.

Donna I just have to say I love your bead rollers!!! At first I was having trouble but then I watched the video and bam it sunk in. The rollers make beads so much easier and quickly. My bead buddy Rose and I are on a mission to buy at least one of every roller you have. I am seriously loving the 2 rollers we share currently.

Anyone on the fence about buying these go for it!! They are a dream tool!!!!

I agree, Stacie! I just gave a go with my newly acquired Disc Pandora Style Plus and have to say - I'M IN LOVE! The video was a huge help! I was lucky to pick up the Small Round Spacer Paddle in GS, and I can't wait til it gets here! I'm gonna go check the website and see which one is next on my "Wish" list! I'm thinking maybe the "Garden Variety" Pandora is looking pretty good!

hrm. i'm having trouble getting a nice plump disk.
I think maybe having the right size footprint right off the bat is very important.
In the video, it looks like you almost make the disk right on the mandrel and just finish it off in the roller. I guess you've done it so many times you know exaaaaactly how much to put on.

I'll keep trying... I love those perfect ones--I have to make some!!

Donna, your donut spacers are on backorder! Do you know when you'll be up to speed on them again? Must be a very popular tool.

Making the footprint smaller than the cavity you are working in is the key, just as it is the key when not using a cavity - or using a press. As you work with them, keep in mind, the cavity is for refining the shape.

Not sure what you mean by a 'plump' disk(?) I'm thinking yes, the footprint being a bit smaller will make them look plumper. And yes, I build up a fairly close shape to the disc, otherwise it wouldn't fit in the cavity to get the final refined shape.

The long spacer paddles are pretty popular. I'm going to give him a call and find out.

Hi, size question here!

I have the disc spacer(?) with 3 discs on 3/32 mandrels and 3 discs with pandora sized mandrels, and just yesterday recieved the pandora plus - wow great speedy shipping!

Is there a pandora sized inbetween these two for the discs? I'm in love with the disc shape but would like the medium size beads!

Donna,
I'm in a love-hate relationship with you and your rollers....... I love them! I got the graduated rounds, pandora donuts, classic four and pandora disc.........I hate that I love them so much because now I want them all........and I can't afford them all. I also hate it because there aren't enough hours in the day to use them all. Keep em coming tho cause one of these days I'm going to win the lottery (fat chance) and then I can afford all you can produce. Thanks Donna.

I own 2 of Donna's beadrollers and yesterday bought 3 more. It's the best tool when using an EMS I have found!!

I am so glad I saw this post Angie! I have an EMS and I was wondering how it would work with Donna's Beadrollers! Happy, Happy! I can't make a bead without the EMS

The only pandora size slots I (currently) have are:
(currently, as in, always adding, but never knowing which one to do next)
disc pandora style
6x14mm
7x16mm
8x18mm

and the Jumbo
11.5x25mm
12x26mm
12.5x27mm
13x28mm
13.5x29mm
14x30mm

Thanks Donna ...

When you feel you can add a pandora style the same size as the large discs (BR2301) I'll be in line!

Okay Donna, I've been waiting for some of your examples of the new drum style beads made with your new drum bead rollers. Let's have em!
Seriously, this is a shape that I may want to try next. It would make a very good canvas for some raised designs.

Sorry, I posted them in another thread, but I'll post them here for you, too. I didn't do the largest one, I have problems making that big of a bead, but you can see how big the biggest one in my hand is, that's the next-to-largest one you can make.

I have a question about the disks - seems by the time I get the sides polished, the edge of the disk has rounded. I try to keep the flame as mush as possible to the side, but it's a pretty narrow bead. I'd like to get "sharper" disks. Any hints?

Give it a quick spin in the flame to heat the rim, but not the sides. Then give it a quick spin in the mold to re-define that sharp rim. Just one or two spins is all you need, not long enough to make chill marks.

Ah.....I'm getting little puckers around the sides. so it's taking longer to get them out. Maybe my footprint is a little too wide?

That might be part of it. Also try getting rid of them as you build, by shaping in smaller cavities as you go.
