Default Does anyone sell silver glass by the rod?

I'm a complete silver glass newbie in an oldie lampworker's body. Yep, the only silver glass I have EVER dared to use was Gaia, and that was way back in 2007. So it's time for me to make some new stuff. It's too expensive I always thought, so I stayed away. I will need to try out a rod at a time and see what really works for me before I decide to buy 1/4lb of $100lb glass.

Can you please tell me who sells it by the rod? There are SO many more new ones that came out since Gaia was on the market. I'm waayyyy behind on the silver scene.

Try Triton and Helios, they're as user-friendly as Gaia

Thanks!

I don't plan to make sets because I'm SO damn OCD that if the beads are different from one another, I will sell them off as mismatched orphans. But for focals, I'm pretty excited about that! I have two presses and I pulled them off the shelf last night and dusted them off.

Oh yeah..and the pins were rusty because they sat unused for so long. So I sanded them lightly and wiped them down with a little vegetable oil.

Mountain Glass Arts does also. Sells by the ounce. Min. 2 oz. which, depending on the glass may be from 1-2 rods.

They are in Ashville, NC. Best service of the 6-7suppliers I've used. www.mountainglass.com.

Would you like a couple rods of Elektra to try Lisi? Or are you familiar with it already?

No, the only one I have ever tried was Gaia and I used it on ivory with silver leaf. It was a long time ago!

Msg me if you'd like to try a couple of rods then

I accidentally over ordered - it took me a year to go thru a 1/4 lb of the Elektra, so I figured I'd order a 1/2 lb of the seconds. I wound up placing a double order so I can certainly spare a couple rods LOL
