A big pair of side cutters, is what I use to hack it into sections... or my chop saw with a metal cutting blade for bigger quantities.
Ask for the 316L stainless. It's a bit more, but worth in the long run. It will last way longer than the 308, 308L or even the 316. The L means low carbon... not sure why it makes such a difference, but it does. My shop doesn't carry anything over 1/8"...
