So you want to learn how to make glass beads? They are very pretty. Especially when you can choose your colors and sizes and styles. Here's your opportunity to give it a try. In this two day workshop you'll learn about glass and how to form it using a professional torch to make your very own glass beads. We'll go over safety and technical information that you need to know and then we'll begin to play. In the first day you'll learn how to make stringers, the creator of all of those dots and stripes and flowers, and of course simple glass beads. Shapes and special effects will follow on the second day. Come on down and get started making fabulous glass beads. No experience necessary.
Cathi Milligan, of Beadbrains has over 15 years of bead making experience and has helped launch the bead careers of many a bead maker. She's been seen on DIY Jewelry Making and Craft Lab as well as on TLC and the Lifetime Network. She also has a book published on macramé called Mod Knots and has written a how-to article on how to make a macramé beaded curtain for Craft magazine. She's also got a glass tutorial coming up in a Glassline magazine issue. Her work has graced the cover of In Style magazine as well as been seen in Bead & Button, Glass, Belle Armoire and some Japanese fashion magazines.
