Default Seattle Folk Life - May 2007?

Has anyone here ever had a booth at the Seattle Folk Life Festival? I'm going to be submitting a request for next year's event and I was hoping to get a bit more info from someone that's been there, and done that. I'm especially interested in how the different sections of the grounds fare as far as traffic and sales go. You have a first and second choice of four areas when you apply, and I'm really not sure which ones to pick.

I'd love to share a booth with another artist, but I don't know if it's allowed. IF it is, is anyone in that area interested in participating and applying for a space with me? It's a juried process, and the deadline is Jan 17, I believe. I can point you to more info if you need it. I will already have a 10 x 10 foot canopy tent with sides, so if you don't have one, that's not an issue.

thanks,
Teresa

I haven't been a vendor, but have been a shopper many a time. If you can get it, I would suggest an outdoor booth near the fountain (I bet the most expensive). They have a lot more traffic, especially if it is a nice weekend and isn't raining. Good luck. It is a great show!

Yeah, that is the most expensive spot, I think. But if it's worth it, I'd make it my first choice. No way to know if I'd get it, and of course that assumes I pass the jury.... but it's good info to have!

We've been as visitors, too, and it's a wonderful festival! We always have a great time. My husband has some friends that do a booth there every year for their pottery. I will ask them as well what they think about the different spots.
