Default Photography question

I am getting pretty good at taking pics but I am stumped. I have made a few long necklaces and I can't figure out how to take a good pic of them. How do I show the chain and still have a close enough picture? Also, I don't know what I should place the necklace on when I photograph it.

Any tips??

Would an on-model type of pic work for you? That way you can get the full affect.

I'm not sure. I don't really know what the best display is. I could try it though!

Slide into local mall and see how necklaces are displayed in dept. and jewelry stores.... At least it will give you some ideas...

You can buy the long necklace display busts on ebay and they're not too $$.
