Lynnie, do you run the stiffer/thicker wire through the tube before or after it's gone through the drawplate?

Tink, I'm not Lynnie but I can tell you it's much easier to run the wire thru the tube before you run it thru the drawplate however, I've done it after as well. That's usually because I forgot to put it in before putting it thru the drawplate ! lol !

Hi Tink
I run it thru AFTER, but I'll try before and let you know... the only problem with running it thru BEFORE is you don't know HOW LONG the final drawn piece will be, so you may waste wire or end up with it too short!

If you don't want it that stiff you don't have to run a wire all the way through the tube. Just attach at the ends and make it like an eye pin. Then run it through the bead cap and make a wrapped loop. I need to try one like yours with it running all the way through. I haven't tried that way yet.

I run it through after, or if my knit is too tight, I use the eyepin approach.
