Cim sangre. It stays a nice red without getting "liver-y"

The liver color is caused by multiple striking, bouncing in and out of the flame. Try to save the strike until the last step and you will get a clearer ruby red.

Look for Lauscha Radiant Red at Firelady.com .

I forgot that Irene sells Lauscha as well. Look at the Lauscha Dark Red on her website, Flame Kissed Glass.com

CIM has a Bordello as well but if you don't use it over white or clear it'll look black. It's really, really dark.

Reichenbach 104 has an awesome ruby red colour, the name of which escapes me at the moment.

Cim Sangre is a beautiful ruby red and it stays that color. Totally rocks!

Oh darn! I thought you meant Vetro, as in "There is another gorgeous red on the market". Ah well, I won't bother to hunt for it then!

I go with CIM Sangre. I find it to be pretty easy to work with. On a goddess it takes heating for a long time and doesn't burn.

I think effetre striking red is easy to work with, and it will be really pretty red if you encase white with it. But if you need it to be just transparent... well, I dunno... have always just used it on top of white.

Beautiful Kevan! That is exactly the color I am looking for!

I'm making a cabochon and need it to be transparent. I tried the striking red alone and it came out a Christmas red color. I need blood red ruby color.

This means I get to buy more glass!

I third (or fourth?) the CIM Sangre. Stays a beautiful, ruby without going opaque or having the orange undertones of effetre.

My Sangre is kind of semi-transparent and kind of livery looking in rod form. It doesn't look anything like your goddess Kevan. I wonder if it's a different run or something?
