Default Help! My holes are rough!

Hello everyone need some advice here. . . . . .

Just cleaned out a bunch of BHB's with a dremmel and all of the holes are a little rough. You cant see them but you can feel them.
What can I do to smooth them out?
Thanks
Anna

Where are they rough? The ends? Are they dimpled?

Finer and finer grits of sandpaper can be used to smooth.
(Cut a section of an old mandrel and glue a single wrap of sandpaper
around it, can be used by hand or with dremel at low speeds.)

If you want to polish you will need to sand down to at least 2500 grit,
preferably to about 8000 grit, and then use cerium oxide on a felt pad.

Default Mind in the gutter tonight...

My answer in response to this title would not be appropriate to an all-ages board...

Do what they said. Or just use findings that hide the holes.

Even that comes into my head dirty tonight! Bad Melissa!

Lol I was in such a rush when I posted this I didnt even think. . . .

Yes the bead holes are puckered but they are not as smooth as when I just use the bead cleaning reamers. The roughness isnt visible. I ve tried to take a few pictures but you cant see it. The person im making these for doesnt want them cored. Im sure its probably user error. Ill make a few more and see what happens.
Thanks All!

Maybe its my bit. I did use it under water.

Any recomendations?

I also thought it might be the glass. Its not a color I normally use (green) and it was very shocky.

There's a thread somewhere about this, somebody uses a special polish with a mandrel - I can't find it

All vulgarity aside, the best way to have smooth ends is to make them smooth in the flame. After your bead is finished carefully inspect your beads and get those ends smooth before you ever go to the kiln.

I use an acrylic nail file and lightly file to the center of the hole.It works wonderfully and is so easy to control.

Are the ends jagged or just rough. I'm having a hard time envisioning this.

Did you use a diamond bit that is coated to the end?
My guess is that your speed it too high in your bit, AND that you had it running before you got it in the hole (David....I heard that dirty thought! )
Any wayszz.... Turn your speed down and insert the tip into the bead before you turn on the dremel. I would also recommend a 'Beadreamer' from Art in the Round. It's amazing truly and not coated to the end so it will not roughen your ends. It has a very smooth and powerful diamond coat on the shaft that is just amazing. It's a little pricey ($30 vs a few bucks for other bits) but it will last you thousands of beads. Really worth it. I buy one every few years, and I make a lot of beads!
