Looking for Tutorial for Roman Face Murrini
Greetings! In the back of my mind, it seems I have seen a tutorial for simple Roman face cane murrini, either online or in The Flow or the ISGB journal. I have been through all my old magazines and not come across it.
Would anyone have seen this and remembered where it might be found, or know of an online tutorial? I have an interest in producing a few Roman face mosaic beads, if I can get some direction.
Thanks!

Hi Raven,
Do you have an example of the type of face cane you are looking to do? I might be able to help you through it. I'm not sure that I have ever seen a tutorial for this.

There is a book & DVD. I have both and the face murrini is not on the DVD. The book has a lot more info for the same price.

Thanks very much, everyone. I really appreciate the answers. I will look into getting the book. I knew I had seen it somewhere, but could not remember where--and I realize someone had shown me that book a few years ago.

I'm interested in Roman face cane, too. My local interlibrary loan can't get me the tonbo-dama book in question; does anyone have a link to an online tutorial (free or $) for making simple human-face cane?
Here is a link to the sort of thing I'm looking for: http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/l...jectID=1519732

For simple face canes, I believe it's in Kimberly Adam's book, "The Complete Book of Glass Bead Making".

Do you work in polymer clay? Similar concept.
I make the component pieces, heat them in the kiln, grab them, stick them together, and pull.

I was about to link Ms. Adams' book, then I saw someone else had.
A second for that!
