the way most of you apply stringer to make a spiral wrapped bead? I had always assumed the stringer was being held onto. I love this look, but have a devil of a time getting stringer on evenly.

I let it hang. You have to be careful in this method to not get it too close to the flame, or it just melts right off, especially if it is skinny stringer. Also make sure it is going to be long enough to cover the whole bead!

I let it hang but control it by keeping my right hand on the stringer and holding my mandrel in my left

I've done it both ways, hanging & holding. I think the hanging method gives better control and results - at least for me! Hey Brandie, is the goldstone stringer working okay???
