Safety issues with fuming
This is touched on in several different treads, but I would like to talk with all of the Boro experts.
Please share you expertise, advise, and knowlege on this issue.
I am hoping to get some lessons, and possibly a class in this and am getting vastly different opinions.
Thank you all very much
Sue

Try not to breath it in. Plus the two short tips all above, you are well on your way.

Seriously, just get some metal and go with it. Use fine silver, and 22k or 24k gold, though some use 18k gold and it works for them as well.

As long as your ventilation is good you will be fine. If your concerned wear a good respirator as well.

Good ventilation in the form of an active system that draws all of the torch plume away from you and out of the room is the key to doing this safely. A fan in a window doesn't cut it. If you aren't using a hood or Barley Box don't do it.

as someone once said, gold may not be toxic but it's awfully hard to breath through gold-plated lungs. Or fumed ones... FWIW
