Ivory. Any one have an opinion?

I have been looking for a really GOOD ivory/off white glass for a long time. I don't want one that is reactive, my Effetre (light and dark) ivory turn black every time I use it.
I would like one that stays ivory....I need a really creamy color that stays true.
Any suggestions??

I use Cim Butter Pecan when I want an ivory color that
doesn't react with everything else. It's alittle bit stiffer
than ivory.

Butter Pecan has been discontinued, so that's a good substitute if you have some but sort of a frustrating one if you don't.

The next best thing right now is a new colour from CiM called Linen. it is slightly reactive, a cool yellowish ivory. I had some trouble when I encased it with Effetre 004 clear, but not when I used it as a core with other non-004 colours over it.

I have test results for Linen on my blog if you want to see what it looks like combined with other colours.

I do have a tiny stash of Butter Pecan somewhere so I'll give that a try before I order something new.

Have you considered using plain old ivory and encasing with clear?

Unfortunately Vetrofond is no longer making glass but if you can find a supplier that has some old stock of "Yellow Ice", it's a beautiful ivory that is much less reactive than Moretti ivories. I use it instead of ivory most of the time.

or Ginger? That was was Kathy suggested was close enough when they discontinued Butter Pecan.

I rarely use those so I'm not sure how close myself.

ELO from frantz stays creamy. The only thing I dont like about is it goes transparent when It gets hot and I loose it sometimes. Good off white color.

Ginger isn't discontinued. Just Butter Pecan. we might see more Butter Pecan as limited runs down the road, but it is no longer a Production colour.

I've used (and like) Vetrofond Cream ODD. You can buy it at Frantz and sometimes the Vetrofond goes for 60 -70% off which makes it a deal. Right now it's 40% off at $3.60/quarter lb.

Lauscha Brandy Butter is a good ivory. You can get it to react-- or not. Right now it is on sale for half off.
Also I used to use Silver Pink instead of ivory.

96 Ivory doesn't react, so there's that too lol.

And ye De, I meant for them to try Ginger since some suggested Butter Pecan and it's the 'replacement' for it.
