Nice information.

Do you have any information as to the cost of purchasing a liquid O2 tank? Our local dealer said they were in the 12K price range.

Would like to use liquid O2, however the supplier charges a daily rate of $3.25 for tank rental, plus $600 per refill. Seemed a bit on the high side!!

Alaska,
That seems really high. I'm in Wisconsin and its about $44 a month rental and $185 a fill. Good luck finding something more reasonable!

Where do you get your liquid O2? It may be worth the drive for me towards Milwuakee at those prices.

Alaska, that is not high for, well..Alaska...consider how your tank needs to get to you. I live in southeast and mine come by barge, a week up,6+ weeks working time, and a week back to Seattle..so 8wks or more for the rental, plus the liquid...but with the equivalent of 16+ greenies inside, you could vent off one third as loss and still be money ahead...especially what I pay for greenies....$ 78 !!

I would not recommend a person that is only making beads to get LOX. You have to work that tank EVERYDAY and hard...to keep the pressure down for NO venting if your by yourself. Unless you've got a bunch of people torching off it..your oxy will just end up in the air in a blow off.

I worked the last 2yrs on liquid and loved it...until I got 3 bad tanks in a row at 585.00 per tank loss! I finally broke down and bough an oxy fill system from ABR and am tickled pink. Takes 3 days or less to fill a greenie, never out of them again. Spendy yes, but this thing will pay for itself in over a year.

Like your advise. Was concerned about the venting and the loss of O2 when the system was not in use. Our only supplier is Air Liquide, so they have a corner on the market.

Will just stay with the concentrators and keep the 125 cu tank as a backup. It is on the welding set but at $40 per fill it will most likely stay in that application.
