Default Fifteen Boro Hearts, My First Attempts

Ok so I got Brent Grabers Boro Hearts DVD and it has really good instructions how to make the hearts. I'm just not the greatest(yet)at working the right colors out of everything without them turning poopie or muddy ....that said, some turned out nicer than others.

Great job on your first hearts! Brent's video is awesome and I've had the pleasure of taking several classes with him. Best piece of advice he gives is to get the glass "white snot hot" and then let it cool "below glow." Once the glow is gone, strike it in the back of the flame. Holding the boro striking colors in that "mid-hot" range will usually result in "poopy" color.
But, having said that, you got some great color on some of yours and you're on your way to being a heart maker!

yup, heat until screaming hot, yes that is an official term, and don't spare the oxy. DAP really likes to be white hot, especially if you are going to encase it.

Turn the oxy knob open a bit further and like they said... get it hot... work it super hot... don't dink around in the kinda hot range... once you get the steps down, it's easier to get good color... best way to get in touch with me if you have questions is email or phone... I don't come here much these days... <3

It doesn't matter to me but... , I was once chastised for not keeping my pictures left orientated.

Great work. The welds on your bails look good. Better than some stuff I have put out. Keep at it.
