Default Using stamen cane

I know there all different methods of using stamen cane. Which is your preferred metod?

I've tried both to push it in, blow and snap it off and to nip off a short piece and hold it with my pliers and stick it in and melt/marver/melt/marver it smooth.
I wasn't really happy with any of those techniques

Any other good methods?

I haven't tried but I heard that nipping it off and putting a drop of clear on top of it before marvering helps to prevent the stamen to spread all over the place, sort of like with murini's, you need to cover those with clear too.Just push in the entire stamen stringer, nip it off and cover with a drop of clear ( only on top of the nipped off stamen stringer)

I could be completely wrong here ,but it sounds logical to me.

I like to gently heat the end of my stamen cane, then pull off a tiny bit with my hemos so it has a bit of a point and all the ends have drawn together. Then I clip it off the rod, and use it like a regular murini. Oh, and giving it a tiny bit of clear on the top before you start melting it in helps too.
