Default A link for some safety advice

Here is some good reading. Not all of it pertains to lampworkers but there is still a lot of good useable information. I found it interesting to read how jewelers cope with safety issues.

Hey Linda! How are you? I am just now getting the springtime cleaning itch..tomorrow I will do windows inside and outside...I hate doing windows.

How is your spring weather coming along? And to tie this post in with the thread topic here..HEHE, I hope to have enough time to do some reading on Ganoskin..

I want to pipe in here. This is a very good source of info, however I disagree with the burn issue.....

Quoted: "The best treatment is to freeze a burn as soon as possible. Burn damage keeps on going for some time after the cause of the burn is removed and if you freeze it fast enough and keep it cold for a while you can often limit the damage "

"Cool the burn. Hold the burned area under cool (not cold) running water for 10 or 15 minutes or until the pain subsides. If this is impractical, immerse the burn in cool water or cool it with cold compresses. Cooling the burn reduces swelling by conducting heat away from the skin. Don't put ice on the burn." - http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fir...-burns/FA00022

I always use ONLY real Aloe Vera..Works every time. So I disagree with both of you..LOL As a lampworker I do not have the desire to ruin a bead by heading into the house for cold running water for 15 mins or until pain subsides. This is out of the question for me. If a burn was bad enough I would leave a bead but ONLY to head to emergency.
