Bobcat. I wasn't overly impressed with the Megaminor and have a great appreciation for GGT equipment.

Hello Ellen! Thanks for the vote. Can you tell me what you like best about the good old Bobcat. I've had a Nortel of ten of more years and looking to upgrade, and this looks good to me too.

Thanks Robert, I hear only wonderful things about GGT. I need to talk to you about Beads of Courage.

Second Q guys, where would you buy your new torch from if you were buying?

Thats not much of an upgrade. Do yourself a favor save up for a lynx then you would really be upgrading.

I'm all ears. PM if you want to or email me at rsimmons@beadsofcourage.org

I bought my GTT torches through Flametree in Atlanta (Roswell).

I've gone with the Lynx, from Flametree in Rowell! I'm excited. Thank you all.

Yes! I use a lynx too, but given a choice between the original 2, I chose the Bobcat. I like GTT torches a lot.

Bobcat! My flame melted through a 14mm boro clear rod in about 15 seconds. I sure was impressed! I didn't expect it to melt that fast! The flame is very focused. I have a Mini CC to compare to. I'm running it with an Airsep AS-12A generator.

Do most of you use H2o generators? I have only used bottle oxy. I have been worried that the generators would not get the flame hot enough or that the sound they make would drive me nuts, LOL. What do you think?

I'm 80% deaf so I don't know about the sound. LOL!

Except I have a 5lpm concentrator and it seems louder.

I have a high pressure generator, but this one I bought 7 years ago and it was a very expensive machine. ($2400) It puts out 15lpm at 18psi, so it's a bit of overkill for a Bobcat. I went with this back then because oxy refills were $22 plus a $6 delivery charge. Noooo can do oxy tanks down here. Too much $$$. The only other option available at the time that was better than a 5lpm machine was the OG-15, which does not hold up well in humidity. Mine has and I have not had to do anything to it in all this time with it running a full time bead business.

With enough oxygen, yes! Meaning, don't try to do boro with a 5 lpm oxycon. With a larger oxycon (or better yet, bottles), yes.

Then again, you can play with boro on a Minor (but again, probably not on a 5 lpm oxycon).

Malcolm

(I did say 'play' ... you're not going to be able to do 4" paperweights )

Thanks guys! I am a real fan of the bottles, lol, I think I'll keep to the comfort zone.
While we are having this chin wag, any suggestions on what boro to snag and where???
Gentle, I am a Boro virgin. And have been away from the studio for three years.
Pat I am doing so good, healing more and more, still look like hell, but what can you do, lol. Thanks you for asking and for all the help everyone.

I have a Carlisle Mini CC but plan on eventually upgrading. I've been eyeing up a Bobcat for quite some time.

Thank you so much! More reconstruction in November, but so far, cancer free. But I tell ya, it's about killed me, LOL. Keeping my eye on getting back to the studio has kept me going. I am so excited. The first time back my husband stood behind me for support, I was scared I couldn't do it and having so many muscles and stuff cut in each shoulder I thought I wouldn't be able to use my arms very well, but it worked great. Sore throught the shoulders, and arms shakey, but it get better everytime. AND the bonus is I am loving it more than ever. I am also supper happpy to see all you all friends.
Thanks for the encouragement and help.

Beth, it's so awesome that you got a Lynx, I love mine.

I think torch working will be great for your upper body in building muscle strength. That is wonderful that you are back to creating.

Oh Leiza, you said just what I needed to hear. I have been sitting in my little hidey hole for the entire winter playing it safe and telling myself I just couldn't do it. HA!!! I say HA.

I'm trying to not to look at the work. I am loving the direction and new talent our little secret world has transformed into. Yes!
