I am under a tornado watch until 11 tonight. Looking at the radar the storms are about an hour from me. However, I just had a huge gust of wind hit the house and I could feel it. I may not be able to send out any more tutorials until tomorrow morning, provided nothing severe happens here.

I'll send them out tonight as long as I can.

Thanks for understanding!

I just bought mine, and I used to live in tornado country. Don't worry about sending it, just stay safe!

Got mine last night. Excellent. Very clear and informative. One of the best I've gotten. Donna, you have really made this very clear and easy to understand.

Default A tiny start

Thanks so much for a well written and photographed tutorial Donna! I have struggled with canes for a long time. I believe I have finally had a bit of success. Need to work on scale though, lol.

A tiny start is a big step - and look at those pretty petals! Way to go Sals!!!! Thank-you for posting your photo.

I used to make smaller flowers but then I got brave one day and went big and bold and I've never looked back. Just do what is most comfortable for you.

Angie - THANK-YOU for your very kind comments. I am happy you like my tutorial.

Default Thanks for the great Daisy tut!

Got my tut 2 days ago and had a chance to play with it today. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful designs and knowledge, Donna! Right off the bat there are several methods that have made the components very straight forward - even fun to make. Not sure if my first couple beads are postable, but they came out better than I had hoped - except for some flaking bead release.

Just received my tutorial. What a great job you did. Can't wait to show some photos of my beads made with them. Maybe tonight I will get to torch for a bit!

Thanks again Donna!

I made some beads yesterday using your tutorial as inspiration, very happy with the way they came out! Will take pics & post them later for you to see.

Why is it that my bead making skills have improved so much but my photography skills still suck so badly?

Okay dokey, here we go. They are in actual fact much much nicer IRL than these pics show.

There is a bead there under the flowers - trust me, you just can't see it!

These last 2 are my favourites, the lentil possibly just edging out the barrel because the colours are so gorgeous. The barrel petals are the same as the bead above, but of course they have come out a completely different colour in the pic.

Thank you for such a great tutorial Donna!

Thank you Donna!

The last bead is Stoneground, would you believe? The rod I used is a bit pinker than the other rods I have, but it's definitely Stoneground as it has the same yellow circles in it if you look at the end of the rod. But I've never had Stoneground strike with such pink/purple streaks before, very strange!

Anyway, I'm not complaining, I love the colours. I have tried to duplicate it again today, I bet it looks completely different .

Stoneground often strikes & shifts colour in the flame but it's usually shades of beige when it cools. That bead is distinctly pink/purple IRL!

I haven't been out to see my beads yet this morning, I will go & clean them & take pics shortly.
