HELP! Bulk Propane and Hot Head issue
My friend is havin an issue with bulk fuel on a Hot Head:
"I just got a hose to connect my big propane tank to my torch, but I am getting very little flow. I assumed the tank was almost empty and got a new one, but I am still getting almost nothing out of it. Any ideas?"
She tried raising the hose, checking the valves, blowing out the hose and switching the tank.
Any other ideas?

I have no experience with a HH but I am thinking the temp of the tank may be playing a role. The tank has to be warm enough to covert the liquid to gas quickly.

Yes that is warm enough...
Put the HH back on a small tank and see if it works that way.

Hook the large tank to a BBQ and see if it is working.
I just remember a problem I had, getting older, I had a similar situation on my BBQ once. The center brass piece was not pushing the valve on the tank in far enough to let the propane flow...

Yah, Raimond has a good point. Whenever I had this problem, the hose needed more tightening to the tank. Not even a quarter turn and it made all the difference!

I was not as lucky, needed to replace the hose and regulator on my BBQ after spending 2 days working on it. The odd thing with mine is I had three tanks and one would work but not the other two. I guess the tolerances are pretty relaxed on the valves...

The regulator would be high pressure?- Want to add for the OP that you don't need a regulator for the hh and bulk, but if you use one it should be high pressure.

Good point KJohn, I added "BBQ" to my posting to not confuse the issue....
