Digital Ceramic Transfers
Hi,
Just recently bought Becky Fairclough and Sabine Little's tutorial on "Using Ceramic Transfers on Lampwork Beads."
I want to make some custom beads for personal use and some for Beads of Courage with words.
Does anyone know a REPUTABLE printer who works with D.C.T. sheets? I would send them a PDF file with my words/line art, and they would use their specialty printer for making the transfers. Becky and Sabine provide this service, but they are in England, and I'm in Atlanta. I have googled and found vendors, but would prefer a tried and true vendor from our glass realm. Some require a minimum order of one A3 sheet, some require multiple sheets.
Anyone got a name?
Thanks in advance!
-Kristy

I have no idea but would like to learn this myself. Thank you for asking, Kristy. I'd wondered this also but didn't know what to ask!

I was just thinking about this too as I'd like to incorporate my daughter's drawings into my beads - I did a search online and found this website: http://www.beldecal.com/
I emailed them some questions but am still waiting to hear back.

Just heard back from beldecal.com - they no longer offer decals that can be kiln fired. Only adhered with varnish or warmed in the microwave (??). Not sure how permanent these types of decals would be.
The search continues.... :-\

Here is a source for the paper. http://www.axner.com/decals-and-transfer-paper.aspx
I'm sure there are many places to purchase this product. I know these are good people from whom to order.

I know there was a gal doing image transfers on here. I think they are sepia tone if I remember right...portraits. Maybe put this in the bathroom since so many people gather there...I'm sure somebody will remember who she was.

Becca, I love your beads. Would you mind sharing what you do to make your painted beads?
