Is anyone having a problem with black?
I am having trouble (that I never had before) with my effetre black "spreading" over my flowers and the spreading seems to be coming from my rubino oro roses...I have made many beads like this before and it never happened, so I'm wondering if it's the rubino or just a yucky black out there...
Does anyone know what I'm talking about or has had this happen?
Thanks very much!
~Lynn

I had it happen with a batch of black too - it's not just you. I changed to Vetrofond black and haven't had a problem since. It seems to be a depp blue, rather than deep porple like Effetre and doesn't blled anywhere near as much.
Hope that helps.

my moretti black has always been great. but... when i last ordered black, they were out of moretti, and so i ordered vetrofond instead. i can't get it to stop burning and turning nasty! maybe it was just a bad batch?

Rubino is a notorious spreader.
The last batch of vetro black I bought was complete crap!

I rarely use Vetro black because it pits and burns on me.

Rolling on a cool graphite marver will also make black pit. Try warming the marver first before rolling your bead on it.

Lynn,
I only use Moretti now, because the others seem to thin out too much, like you say "spread". I know there is definitely a difference between types of glass. Some come out more light purple and feather at the edges. I don't know about other than 104 coe either, maybe that has something to do with it.
