Default striking larger work...

Need help!
What I am doing wrong when I striki. The colors are less strong and beautiful. Most of it looks a little brown - gray. When I work small, it gets better. Once I work larger, it becomes difficult ... ??
: doubt:

Glass insulates itself very well, and the silver striking colors need to get really hot in order to set up and get ready to strike. With a larger mass of glass, you need to get it just as hot as the smaller, for the same results. Normally this requires a lot bigger torch or a lot more time. Don't go too big for your torch with striking colors... just melting them isn't going to give you bright results.

@Brent: Thank you for your differentiated answer. There should be enough the Torch, I work with a GTT Delta Elite. To anhin I always thought that one has to go striking, with less heat?!?
Good weekly start & greetings, Elias

this has been exactly my problem as well. How to strike bigger pieces, particularly sculptural pieces you dont want to get molten hot like a bead or you lose the shape

Work the color really hot before you use it... then once you have it shaped, you can do the striking in the kiln... not all designs allow for you to get some striking results... match your color to the piece. There are a lot of color combinations that are WYSIWYG. Those might be better in some sculptural applications than striking colors... figuring out how to work around these issues is fun for me though... frustrating as hell, but fun!
