After seeing those beads, and seeing Otter's post, I am especially glad I happened to buy some of that glass in my last order - completely on impulse! Squee!!

I didn't know you did boro Squid! I've been garaging at 1050 and the ones with Mai Tai need to stay in there awhile at 1050. I'd say at least an hour or until it has good deep amber color. Then I ramp up to 1150 for 30-45 minutes. I don't flame strike it at all. Tried it when I got it last year and nada.
Otter, have you tried the Mega Mai Tai? I've got some on the way.

I haven't been, but I bought a Bobcat not too long ago and need to hook it up. I have some boro and when I saw that color for sale, I impulsively bought some! I think mine is Double Mai Tai? Thanks for the info!

Some of my Mai Tai fun
I'm in love with all the Mai Tai's.
I can't decide if the Pink or Dbl Pink are my favs.
Squid. Mai Tai Pink is a kiln striker. And if you don't like the color ... pop it back in and ramp it back up. According to Jenny at TAG they have not been able to get this color to overstrike.
Double Mai Tai flame and kiln strikes and tends to go more purple.
Mega Mai Tai just goes nuts with colors.
Here is a mixed set with Mai Tai Pink, Dbl Mai Tai and Silver Creek. Center and end beads are Dbl Mai Tai.
Here is also a heart I made for BOC that is all Dbl Mai Tai.
There are more samples and working tips in the TAG Box O' Mystery thread. These colors were featured inthe Mystery Box.

BeadsGoneWild wow! The petals look so velvety. Beautiful!

I'm loving all of the Mai Tai! Anouk - You can try another round in the kiln. In my exeperience with other colors, it doesn't usually hurt anything.
Here are some pendants from last week.

Thanks Otter, that I knew but it's unavaliable here in the Netherlands. Do you buy it directly from TAG?

I got some from Jenny at the Frantz bash last year and just ordered more from Glasscraft/Winship. They had some other TAG experimentals that I wanted to check out.
Anouk, I've never had mine go red like that! Just out of curiosity, what white did you use? I have no idea if that makes a difference or not. Mine are on Asian White.
Cori, those are beautiful!
Nate, good job! Don't you hate when the camera doesn't cooperate? I really would like to see the bottom one clearer, it looks yummy.

I have to think about the white, I think it's Northstar snowwhite or something like that?
I encased the white with mai tai, put some clear on top, twisted and then made the heart out of it. I will put it in the kiln to try to get more pinks!

Let us know how it works! I'm curious. Again, I don't know if it makes a difference but I didn't use any clear.

Rebecca, yours are all without encasement? They are such a lucious pink *sigh*.
I added just some dots of clear and you can see what it did in the top of the bead. All the red is unencased mai tai.

Anouk, try "cooking" your encased gather before shaping it - keep it almost white hot for a while. Then work it as usual.

Thanks Chris . If I remember correctly, it came out of the flame lightly amber/brown colored (before I put it in the kiln). Not sure if I cooked the gather hot enough tho, will try that.
