Can someone help me, please?
Months ago, I read a thread on soldering.
It was very detailed with list of items needed and step by step instructions
on soldering sterling silver.
I thought I'd bookmarked it, but can't find that either.
I don't believe the soldering thread was in tutorials, but I've searched the tutorial index and can't seem to locate it.
I've searched the garage sale area too. Still no luck!
Anyone remember the soldering thread, or who wrote it?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Kay

soldering .... enlightment
Thank you Karen and Lea, I appreciate you both taking the time to post.
This is certainly an interesting and educational link, however I'm not sure this is the thread I'd previously read.
I thought the suggested torch tool was a small butane torch, such as a pastry torch. I remember thinking, as I read along, "this should be in the tutorial section not here." ---- "Here" now escapes me!
Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Kay, you got me on a mission! Go to the jewelry section and type in butane torch solder and a bunch comes up. Someone in one of the first threads explains using the kitchen torch for soldering and she explains what you need and how to do it.
I didn't look at all the threads, but there were at least a dozen.

Hey guys - if you come up with the tutorial - please post it here - as I remember seeing it too and would like to use it!

I found this one: Need solder advice
It's one I bookmarked to use later.

Barrie Edwards has good info if you are soldering silver, (as opposed to stained glass techniques). http://www.itsmystore.com/cgi-bin/it...dir=windermere
