Default Is there a tut for this?

Hi,

Has there been a tut on how to make the ripple/pleating effect I've seen on a lot of the silver glass encased focals and I've just missed it? I've been searching - thought there was one, but can't find anything. Perhaps I was just dreaming this. HELP

I've seen this on several focals - but most recently in the thread of beads from Gems In Bloom and her 5 month journey. Wow, she has so many fabulous beads - amazing! I've made the small pleated beads and the Michael's baleen style, but not having any luck getting this effect. If this is only Jacqueline's technique then I will wait to see if she might have a tut on this someday.

Thanks

Deb

De Anne, Thanks for the link. I took a class with Michael and bought his tut as he is fantastic, but this seems to be a different technique. At least it really looks different to me.

Thanks for suggestion.

Hi Deb, I believe it only looks different because I am using silver glasses and his technique in the tutorial does not, if I remember correctly that is.

Jacqueline,

Thanks for commenting. I'm going to give this another try with the silver glass as seeing your bead inspired me to try again to get this technique.

Love you work!

Maybe you are looking for the pleated bead technique in the tonbo dama book where they stretch out a twisty with a big clear encasing?

Deb do you have a picture of the style of bead you are thinking of? that might help to see what it looks like.

Wendy,

I found out the style was what Michael Barley uses in his Baleen tutorial, but applied with different glass and pressed a little differently.

Thanks.
