I run my scorpion with 2 10 lpm Regalias. While I know it would be hotter on tanks, I can make a marble as large as 1 1/2 inch and I use 14 - 16 mm clear for my pendants, and it's not that slow at all. What are you using as an oxygen source? I have worked on a bethlehem bravo and did not like it as well as my scorpion. I am prejudiced about GTT torches, IMHO they are the best torches out there.

Wow, Mary, it must rock on two Regalias! I have two 5lpm 8spi machines on my Scorpion and it puts out a helluva lot of heat with just that. My set up was underpowering the Lynx, way overpowering the Cricket, but it's working for the Scorpion. I want to upgrade my oxy set up eventually but for now I'm content.

Upgrade your oxygen source. You should have plenty of heat for what you want to make.

Another vote for oxygen. Changing torches isn't going to to help if you don't have enough oxygen. That being said, I think they're roughly equivalent in many ways otherwise. I know some lampworkers prefer the Scorpion to the it's predecessor the Barracuda for boro work due to the way the flame heats the glass.

This thread may be of assistance as well: http://www.lampworketc.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=206662

I think there were a few more you could dig up with a little searching.

Bottom line, don't spend money on a new torch until you evaluate your oxygen situation.

I run my scorpion on 2 five lpm cons also. I want a third but I can melt 19 mm boro easily. A 1.2 inch marble takes around an hour and a half depending on what it is.
