What's the Proper Way to Use Z powders?
Ok, since I have gotten some of this million dollar powder to experience before it's all gone, what IS the proper way to use it?
Do you heat it lightly? Do you heat to glowing?
I am finding that each colour works a bit differently. Z99 is grainy and devits but holds colour.
Z92 seems to vanish.
Z853 is gorgeous but will also sometimes vanish, also grainy.
and I have z610.
I am waiting for a few other colours that I ordered to come. I really don't want to waste this stuff working trial and error so I would really appreciate people's input.
If there is already a good thread on this please direct me.
Thanks
Happy Mothers Day to whomever celebrates.

I like Z99 on brown, especially Lauscha Cocoa. I roll the bead in a spoonful of powder (be sure you have good ventilation when doing this, consider wearing a respirator). I like to decorate it with copper green stringer. It is pretty on Opal Yellow too.

I don't know that there is a proper way to use anything, but I can see how you don't want to waste the z99.

I put some z92 on effetre dk blue cobalt and the z92 disappeared. it turns brown on ivory. I"m not sure how much to heat the powders.
I agree Kevan, I usually don't pay attention to the rules, but this I don't want to waste.
maybe I'll ask Kalera in her thread if she doesn't post here.

I lol'ed at "million dollar powder". Indeed!
You can get rid of the devit on Z-99 by super-heating it just before you pop it into the kiln. Don't heat it so hot that the bead loses its shape, mind you, but hot enough to get a good glow all over it.
I have found also that if your layer is too thin then it does kind of disappear if you heat it too much, so make sure you have more than just a sprinkling on the bead.
