Clio. Hands down. Helios might be 2nd. Both made by Double Helix.

Clio, Gaia, Fire lotus

Clio due to colors
Gaia due to easy to reduce and pretty colors
Fire lotus due to easy to strike

Ok, now I need to get some Clio to see what is does! It is sooooo tempting to buy ALL the cool glass I see and read and hear about, but DANG! It is not always the cheapest obsession to have, is it!!

Can you explain WHY you like what you like--what it does or doesn't do, colors, flow, etc? Thanks!!

I'm trying to wait until I get the basics of shaping, etc down, & then I'm planning to order a sample pack to get a rod of several to try before I go wild with any one glass.

Although I did order some seconds of a couple one night when my resistance was low, LOL.

I still love raku, followed by Precision Sissley, then Clio, BlackNebula, and Kalypso.

Mmmmmmmmm, I have this batch of trans green Double Helix, but NO idea what it's called. I bought it at the Gathering in Oakland and have been rocking the hay out of it since then. Great for bug backs, eyes, wings, thin overlays on other colors (for iridesence over whatever color), etc. Yay! Sorry that was totally non-helpful though. I buy all my color at conferences, in big batches and so have no idea what I got, frustrates me sometimes.

Why not buy a sampler from one of the major suppliers like Northstar or GA? They are a great way to play with lots of colors for cheap.

It could be DH Gaia or Precision 104 Rembrandt (aka "Miro" Silvered Emerald). If it looks like this and goes VERY silver in a reduction flame, it's Miro:

But if you got it directly from DH, I'm purty sure it's the Gaia!

Wes,

Jed didn't have any regular production glass at the Oakland Gathering and I don't believe there was any test batch that was green reducing either. . . here is the list at the DH table in Oakland:
A-230 - clear luster, Aion odd lot, reduces
HM-196- silvered hematinone, strikes
HM-206 -silvered hematinone, strikes. Work hot, cool, reheat.
HM-207 - silvered hematinone, strikesHM 210- silvered hematinone, strikes
L2 Light – lighter variation of Luna 2
L2 Dark – darker variation of Luna 2M-232B - pinky purple luster, Aurae prototype, reduces
NE-152 - shifts color under different light types, reduces
Pandora Light – A lighter variation of our new Pandora
Psyche Dark – A darker variation of Psyche
R-119 - opaque Pandora
R-170/R-170B - opaque silver copper, strikes
SL-189 - Triton prototype, reduces
T-217 - light pastel Terranova 2 prototype, strikes
T-218 - light pastel, Terranova 2 prototype, strikes
TN-212 - fast striking Terranova prototype
VK-211 - brick red hematinone

Can't remember if you went to Miami? There was one green reducing glass, OX-327, in Miami.

At Rochester, there were two: OX-376 – a yellow-green tourmaline, jewel super luster and OX-380 – a peridot green, jewel super luster.
