I too have purchased this most excellent volume. It is filled with beautiful photos and descriptions of what glass is used. The best part is the information in the back explaining the secrets of working with some of the more uncommon glasses. This book rocks!

Kim is just the best for allowing us to see her recipes.....ten years of hard work and she allowes us into her world....it wasn't that long ago that you couldn't even think about asking someone what the "secret" was about their bead...I didn't think there would ever be anyone this generous....you look at a bead set, then at the glass used and you say to yourself "that's how you get that beautiful color"...or "that's how she does that". you can give yourself a headache from drooling over all the different styles and techniques. This was never called a tut but you learn a lot...When I buy any kind of information, tut,
whatever you want to label them, if I get just one bit of information that helps me I figure I have gotten my moneys worth...I know from reading other threads that some people don't want to pay for tuts and info.. and $60 looks like a lot...but believe me it is worth every penny...others are ten pages for $10....this is 152 pages that will rock your world.....Thank you Kim

I purchased Color Archive, and am very happy with it. So much information about glass combinations that would take years of trial and error & many lbs of glass to figure this out for myself and all for $60. The photos are beautiful I highly recommend this to any bead artist.

It is an amazing collection of work and totally worth it! I have her other tutorials as well, but this is so nice to look at and see what glass was used for many, many bead designs.

You won't regret it!

I bought it and had it made into a book. I LOVE it and I'm wearing a necklace inspired by her wonderful terra beads on page 29. I would buy it again in a heart beat.

With so many Christmas orders to fill, a Christmas party to get ready for and the arrival out-of-town family today, I've barely had time to do more than skim through the very generous 152 pages of the beautiful PDF "Color Archive." I must say the photos are stunning and I can't wait to devour more of this document.

On the afternoon of receiving my copy, however, I did read through most of the "Technical Notes" beginning on page 147. What a wealth of information that is! To me, this section alone is worth the $50 I paid for the document (pre-order price).

I believe I have all except one of the tutorials Kim has produced up to this point. I've found them to be well written and easy understand with excellent photo examples. Kim has been generous with her knowledge in each of them.

I have all of Kims previous tutorials, I did not hesitate to purchase the color archive, even with what for me was a hefty price, because I knew the quality of her pictures were excellent. I was not disappointed.
The color archiv,e while not giving specific instructions for each bead, is a major source of inspiration for me.
I have always admired her use of colors, her beads to me are downright amazing. Having a booklet with awesome pictures I can refer to on color combos and the use of different colors and glasses together is for me a "do it yourself" tutorial.
I often get overwhelmed when I go out to the torch and I waste valuable bead making time messing around trying to come up with color combos, or an idea to work with for the day. The advice in archive is helping me so much already. The technical notes section is well worth the price of the whole archive for me.
There are some beads with glass that is in short supply but there are many that are made of glass that is new or available now.

Hi Kathy. I hope you had a great Xmas and will have a Happy New Year.

I LOVE this archive. I have enjoyed seeing the fabulous work and also am amazed that Kim has shared her hard learned knowledge. Thanks Kim - alot!

P.S. I didn't see the notes in the back of the tut yet where she shares some color ideas for replacement colors. i will have to go read it now!

Everything in there is very inspirational, and I think of it as less a recipe and more as a jumping off point for my imagination. [But damn I wish I had know about the Z99 in time to get some!]

Love mine. Full of gorgeous, inspirational photos! I also thought the resource section in the back was great. Especially nice was the part where Kim talks about what you can use in place of some of those rare/extinct glasses.

I love it so much, that I want it in hardcover, too!!! I can't even use words to describe the vast talent (and bead porn) in the Color Archives! I've bought Kim's other tutorials (and have learned a LOT!!!), and I think that I'll get a lot out of this.

Mind sharing where you sent it to be made into a book? And cost? Thanks, Gail

Having purchased Kim's other tutorials, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed and I wasn't. So much has already been said here so I won't repeat. For me this ebook is simply INSPIRATIONAL !!

Love it - love it - love it. Well worth the $'s. It is a veritable treasure trove of information regarding the different glasses that have gone into some of Kim's most amazing creations. I really like how she has also given technical notes at the end of the book, and given substitution ideas for glasses that are hard to find or no longer available. Thank you so much Kim - you have outdone yourself!
I am taking mine to Staples and having them coil bind mine.

Jane. Did you print this out at home or is Staples printing it out for you?
I want to order this but need to make it into a book too. I've read on the forums though that some people have had a hard time getting tuts printed at various places. Think it was Kinkos. Something about copyright infringement, even when the members showed proof they purchased the tuts legally they were still refused. Can anyone advise me on where the best place to have this printed at? I was thinking of saving it on a flash drive then taking that in.

I really like all the color references and inspiration that Kim has put into her color book too! I haven't bought any of kims tuts in the past, but plan on as soon as I can possibly afford it. Well worth it!

I got mine printed with http://everything2print.com/serve/e2p/pdf.html I printed Kim's Archive, Amy's Storm, and Mary's Jellyfish Tutorials all in the same book I just named it "Tutorials 2010" You can choose your own cover art, and back cover art. It is full color, hard bound. It won't be here until Tuesday (that's what they tell me) I'll let you all know what kind of quality it is when it arrives. I paid about $65 for it. But I figured that once I paid for the ink, some decent quality paper and then something decent to put it all in, I'd probably be in the hole at least $40-$50 with all of those color photos... and that was just Kim's archive. So I ordered it.

Since I DON'T have it yet, I'm not going to recommend them yet. It might arrive and be a piece of junk. So please wait and let me see what I get for my money before ya'll go and spend a butt load of $$.

That's what I'm figuring. By the time I spend the $$ for ink and paper and wear and tear on my printer, I'd just rather have someone else do it. Thanks Jamie. Please let us know how you like it.

I believe it is. Like I said, I haven't gone through the whole book except to look at the beautiful beads, but I'd bet it's all 104 except of course the frit.

Some of it is 96coe, Z99 and Raku pop to mind... but the majority of it is 104.

I agree with the other girls, they have said it all before & much much better than I could about the information in it, but I do have to say how much I love the pics! OMG, it is pure bead porn!

I printed mine out on my own printer, and Staples quoted me about $8 - 9 for coil binding.

I love this tut and if it was a print book would keep it proudly with my copies of "Passing the Flame" and "1000 Glass Beads". Worth every penny as the beads are beautiful and inspirational - with the glass colors listed to boot! All I can say is "WOW"!

I'm absolutely thrilled with Kim's Archive!!! I wish more artists would do this in the future. I'm seriously impressed by her excellent record-keeping, and delighted that she was so willing to share all of this with everyone. I've been a Kim-fan for many years, and often wondered what her 'recipe' was for one set or another. Now I can find out!

As an aside, I had to wait until two days ago to download my copy, despite ordering it within minutes of getting the first email. I've been out of town for the holidays, and my Mom doesn't have any online access. I finally went out to Panera with the specific mission of doing online checkin for our flight home AND getting Kim's archive. I copied it to my new NookColor, and drooled over it on the trip home. During our layover in Atlanta I was scrolling through the pages, and a lady beside me looked over and gasped. I spent the next 20 minutes telling her about lampwork, and Kim, and probably sounded like a stalker by the time I was done.
