Has anyone done screen printing on beads?
Is this possible? Does anyone have examples/pictures of this technique?

It's often done on fused glass, but don't know how it's done on a curved surface. Do a google search, there was a lot of info available.

I must be using the wrong words in my searches
I must be using the wrong words, I have not been able to find one image for screen printed beads. I've also looked on ebay and etsy. What words did you use in your search?

What end result are you looking for? There are a variety of methods for getting an image on glass; - "painting" with enamels
- etching using a resist to create an image (resist can be stickers, glue, wax or nail polish)
- sand blasting with a resist image (see above)
- heat transfer image from laser printer image (works on boro, not sure about soft)
The desired end result with likely dictate the technique used.

I saw someone's online pictures of drawing on sheet moretti glass with hot stringer then coloring over the line art with enamel or powdered frit and then rolling that onto base cylinder beads to create images on beads.
I assume (there's that word again) that even photo images could be transferred to sheet glass with silk screen techniques and then those could be wrapped around a base bead as well.

Oh Elizabeth, that "heat transfer image from laser printer image" sounds very interesting.
I am just thinking of all the baby pictures that would be wonderful keepsakes for grandparents and families.

Phil, it sounds like you're talking about Bronwyn Heilman's work, with "painting" on sheet glass, then rolling it onto a bead. And Diana East did some wonderful work with sandblasted glass.

Phil, head over to The Melting Pot ( http://www.talkglass.com/forum/activity.php) and search for "magazine image" it should yield this:

Lots of discussion on how to do it mixed in with the usual dick measuring and posturing.

I might be wrong, but I think that the cat bead is done using enamel pens to draw on a base bead. I can't remember the name of the artist, but they did post fairly regularly in here a while ago. I do know that it is definitely not screen printed.
