Default Home gas supply

Hi,

I am brand new to flamework and am trying to figure out my set up.

Can I run my torch from my existing home gas line or must I use a propane tank?

Any help is appreciated

Bruce

It is somewhat going to depend on the torch you select....

There are a number of torches that function adequately on household natural gas or propane pressures. These pressures are usually between 1/4 and 1/3 psi....

There are some torches that are not happy with this low pressures and require a higher pressure as provided by a standalone propane tank and welding style regulator...

When investigating the different torches by brand and model also have a look at the specifications as to what the will require in the way of fuel and oxygen pressures to function acceptably......

Hi, I had our nat. gas supplier come and run me a line down to the basement for my torch (a Carlisle Mini CC). The pipe supplying the gas has an open/close valve for me. I will say, however, that the gas co. was really cranky about doing it, even though we paid $400.
