I just tried my first beads with the heavy duty and I'm in love! I have been having such problems with flaking and cracking. Not a crack, not a flake, not a problem of any kind.
I want more.

Well I'm halfway through my first bottle and I have to say, I'm disappointed. It was fantastic at first but as soon as I needed to thin it with water. It became worthless. I order more sludge plus and as soon as it arrives the tuff and smooth goes in the garbage.

hmmmm.. I had to thin mine and it was still great. What is the problem with it now that you have thinned it?

It just won't coat the mandrell evenly. builds up real heavy at the end. And won't coat at all in the middle.

I have found that there are two ways to use FF - one is a thicker coat and one is quite thin. There is an in between stage where, to me, it seems grainier and uneven.

I think the problem was not mixing it well. I went back and stirred it up for about ten minutes And it seems to have solved some of the problem.
I will admit that the beads come off the mandrel very easily. Which is nice.

I have 3 or 4 wonkies added to my bottle so I can shake it to get it back to a nice consistency.
I too love the way the beads slide right off!

Please remember that it's perfectly OK to contact the manufacturer when you are having problems with a product. They make it, develop it, test it, research it and will most likely have an answer to your problem.
And of course, LE is a wonderful place for answers as well! Thank you to all who responded! *hug*

Beads practically slid off the mandrels!
I LOVE THIS STUFF! So far.
I love not having chunks flake off into my bead. I love making a big hole bead and not having it break free while I'm making it. I love not having it break off when I touch the mandrel with my marver while I'm straightening up the ends of a bicone!
Thank you, Robin!

Yep, I love it too, it's even better than Fusion.
I also put a couple big beads in the bottle, and I give it a good shake before using it. I've thinned it out a couple times, and no problems... but I did give it a good long shake every time.

Oops - I was so happy I gushed all over a new thread about how wonderful this stuff is - I'm still making all the newbie mistakes, so it's nice to have at least one part of the process be more forgiving. I bang around the mandrel a bit while making the beads, and tug quite hard (because the BE gets stiff so quick), and I sure noticed a difference with the Smooth & Tuff. Love it. Lisa
