Default kILN ELEMENTS

Help the element in my kiln broke.....I heard you can crimp them or use a nut and a bolt to do a quick repair but what do you use to crimp them or what kind of nut and bolt will withstand the heat? And does anyone know where can I order a new element?
Thanks Kare

Yes you can use a crimp connector from autoparts store... Just remove plastic part of connector... Think its called a "butt connector" or almost any steel screw and nut ... Just bend loops in ends and put them on screw and tighten nut... This is only a emergency fix... It going to fail again so get nwe elements..

Be sure kiln is UNPLUGGED when venturing inside...

Several places on web you can get generic replacements...

http://www.kickwheel.com/kiln.repair.html
http://www.joppaglass.com/
http://www.pelicanwire.com/onlinestore.htm

Best bet would be to contact manufacturer of kiln first for replacement elements before navigating jungle to find a generic replacement...
