Flip-flops tutorial?
I've been trying to make little flip-flop beads for a summer bracelet, and they're proving to be harder than I thought! Any tutorials or tips out there? Thanks alot!

This is how I do them...
Here ya go:
I left off basic stuff, like don't make the bead too thin, and remember to heat off any chill marks from the BBQ mashers.
Post pictures of any flip flops you make using this tutorial!!!
Enjoy,
Karen Hardy

You can add a little raised flower at the bottom of the V (straps) for an extra somthing.
Great tutorial!

Gads, I swear there is nothing that will stump this forum.
I was close, even thought I might have seen the idea someplace but finally decided it must have been in polymer clay.
Thanks so much for the tutorial. Maybe just the thing I need for some seasonal inspiration.

If you like it, please remember to rate the thread! Maybe we can get a summer themed competition going. Seashells and flip flops anyone?

Good reminder. I never think to rate threads.
Summer theme would also be great. I've done pretty well with themes since Christmas but was at a loss for late spring or summer.

Here's a picture of the flip-flop bead I made using the great tutorial from Karen Hardy. Thanks again for sharing it with us!
Now to work on making a matching pair!

That's great! I love the orange with the white polka dots color scheme. The hardest part is concentrating on making them flat and skinny - like real flip flops, and unfortunately - all I can tell you is practice practice practice. If I want 2 that look the same, I have to make 20 and pick out the ones that match .

I just tried this tutorial out and have some of these in my kiln already.
They are fun to make!
