I have used any reduction glass that is a fairly light transparent with good success. Aion, Electra, Gia have all stormed pretty well form me.
Hope that helps.

Her tutorial gives a pretty good comprehensive list of "stormable" glass, and if you search in that thread, lots of other glasses have been listed that storms up well.

Kelly has the tutorial. Give it a good read and let it sink in. Ask me any questions you want....that's what I'm here for. I feel that part of selling a tutorial is to also be available to answer questions and I'm pretty sure every other tutorial writer would agree with that.
To answer this question, just about every reduction glass storms well but of course there are some exceptions. The ones used in my tutorial are really my "go to" glasses. I would say that Olympia Rain, Zeus and Golden Emerald are by far the most versatile because layering them on anything looks good.
Even though you over stormed your OR, you can still make pretty beads with it. Heavily stormed OR can look like an opal:

Yes, I'm pretty sure that is stormed Golden Emerald and it's either over Gaia or this funky green striking glass that only FlameDame has.

When I got Amy's tut from my friend, I didn't have any Olympia Rain (still don't) but I had some Double Helix Aion and Aion2.
I figured that since it was clear/transparent and reducing, it might work and it did!
I've been reading about LOTS of neat experiments that folks are trying in the other Thread http://lampworketc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140300 .
It's a really great way to keep your enthusiasm up!

Thanks for the tip Amy.
And Kelly don't be afraid to try the darker reducers, they do some pretty awesome things... The only glass I've had zero luck storming is Clio. But I'm sure some one has done it.

The tricky part is know when to stop storming (or how hard to storm) your silver reduction glass. I guess that comes with practice. I have a few glasses that I tried but didn't end up storming enough. You couldn't see any whispeys. I can always use it as a stringer or melt it all down and try again!
Gorgeous bead, Amy! You are truly bold and determined when it comes to making the silver glass sit up and bark!

Ah Amy. Beautiful bead.
And, of course, let's not forget the stunner posted up higher in the thread <sigh>
I purchased your tutorial (wonderful instructions) and even I was able to make silver glass do what Amy demonstrates. Not quite as pretty but not too shabby

I've never met a stormed glass that I didn't like
Even over-stormed can look nice . . . . I use it all!!!!

So I wonder, is it because I marver my dots in? Is that what makes it go such a nasty puke color? Cause I get good color out of Clio, just not stormed clio dots. It starts out neat, then gets muddy as soon at I hit is with my marver and stick it back in the flame. Then it seems like if I try to burn the haze off, the all of the effects of the storming go right along with it.
On a positive note, I did manage to web it a little last night. I just need to work on getting the effect evenly over the surface. (Thanks for the advise yesterday, Amy)

I can't wait to try my storming tutorial, and have added some of the silver glasses to my "must buy list." Gah, I hate it when that happens!!

Personally I don't think Clio is at it's best when it's stormed. I've gotten muck too. It's totally in it's element when webbed though.
And thanks to all for the compliments on my beads and tutorial!
