Explosion beads or whatever they are called
I have seen a lot of beads where one side is clear and it looks like the other side has oozed out into the clear side...does that make sense...it almost looks like it has been squeezed thru a screen or something. Would anyone care to share how that is done?
Thanks
Sandi

That's sorta it but what I am seeing are beads made on a mandrel where there is color on one side (several maybe) and clear on the other side but it looks like the colored side has been squeezed thru a screen or something into the clear side...the beads look completely encased in clear. I can show you some of the beads but hate to reference a bead without the owner's permission.
Thanks,
Sandi

Sherry Bellamy makes a lot of those types of beads...I think that is her name. I wish all the great lampwork artists would get together and publish a huge book with tutorials for those of us who can't travel to all the places they teach. There is so much I want to learn.

Maybe you are talking about the implosion beads? There are tutorials for making those. Check them out and see if that's what you're looking for.

I think they actually might push the glass through copper mesh.
Maybe someone will chime in.
Good luck,

Yes, it is definitely pushed through copper mesh and then encased.

I have no idea what you are talking about, but it sounds amazingly intersting!!! Does someone have a link to a pic of a bead????

Yes, that technique is done by pushing through copper mesh. I've tried a few, but none were that great. I'll have to go and practise some more, then I can share the technique!

I have tried to push the coppermesh on the bead, but I have only two hands
How can I "push" it?
