What the heck has happened to the price of lampworking glasses? Last time I got a pair they were about $25. The same pair now is 3 times as much.

I picked up a used diddy shield and I got to tell you it is a whole other way of lampworking.

Someone posted a link to a craigslist find in L A from a lampworking store that was changing their teaching set up and I snagged one for about $75.

Not having 1) a second pair of glasses slide down my nose { fit overs } and 2) being able to see the same colors from the glass rack to the melted gather has made it much more enjoyable to melt glass.

Not to mention that cleaning eye wear is a constant chore even if you are religious about not touching the darn things.

I think it is simply a matter of prices going up because they can.
Nobody works without them so we are a captive audience.
