Default PSP X3

Is anyone using Paint Shop Pro X3? I am having troubles using the Brightness/contrast -> Levels part of the program. I used a previous version of PSP and it worked like a dream. Now I get all kinds of weird tints in my photos plus I can't seem to select white OR black OR gray before selecting an area of the photo to base the correction on. Anyone have any insights as to what I'm doing wrong?

I haven't been using levels but I tried it with several pictures and got ok results. The one thing I did find is that I had to hit the reset button on the levels menu (right above the eye droppers). Otherwise it seems to try to use the "last used" and gives random results.

I've been using PSP X3 since it first came out and have been pleased with it. Although I have been looking at CS5 with its context sensitive object replace. I'm hoping Corel will put something like that in PSP Xnext. The object remover and smart carver work pretty good but ....

Let me know if the reset button helps. We PSPrs need to hang together

Thank you Fred! I keep trying to get it to work properly and it just refuses to bend to my will.
I think I may have to break down and peruse the online manual.
Thanks again and I will let you know if I come up with any info.
