Default A Logo?

I have Microsoft Picture It! Publish It! on my computer and I have Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Frontpage 2003. I want to create a logo for the website I am building and for Ebay auctions. I'm following a book as I work on the website. A friend is coming over on wednesday to help get me set up for Ebay. The most I've done on my own is creative cards, and small books for kids, from scratch in Picture It! And I use Adobe for editing photos.

I think I can create a logo by myself. Can I make a logo for the web/Ebay in one of the two above programs? What type of file will it need to be when I save it? Is there a tutorial or website that you think would be helpful?

Thanks!
J

Photoshop will do it, you'd export as a jpg or gif. I think there are easier programs to use, but if you already know how to use Photoshop you're ahead of the curve.
