Hi All
I'm looking for some Silicon Carbide Power to etch the bottle and stopper on a Boro perfume bottle...anyone know a source? (that sells small amounts)
Thanks Kare

600 or 1000. My personal preference is the 1000. Check out the beads I posted in the Boro Bead Exchange, those were tumble etched with 1000 before I coldworked them.

WOW! Kim Those are Beautiful! I'm not a bead maker But I could see how this could work on many pieces...How do you get the "window" do you coat it first or polish it out later? (is that possible) is there a thread you could direct me to? I know want...want ..want
Thanks
Kare

Thanks, Kare. It's a really simple technique...all you need is the right equipment and time After the beads are etched overall, you use a flat lap and progressive grits to grind away (and eventually polish) a window in the etching. I just peeked at your ebay...you could do it on your pendants. Eric has shown some of his gorgeous window pendants in some of the past show and tells. And you don't have to do this only with clear....use color, etch it, and do the window. It's amazing what that glass is doing on the inside!!!!
